Roman lead gaming dice

Material  Lead
Dimensions 1.2cm long x  1.0cm wide
Roman Empire 1st - 5th Century AD
Description

A small lead gaming dice with impressed dots indicating the number.  Each side has a different number however there are least two sides that have "four".  This indicates that it was perhaps used from a game that required two fours, as there clearly is not "six".

A deep and colorful lead patina covers the dice indicating its age.  There also curiously various other impressions on the lead, that are clearly from ancient times, as they are also covered in a deep patina.  These almost appear to be teeth impressions, however simply could just be dent and dings of vigorous use during a heated game.

Interesting piece of ancient culture and history.
