Roman lead sling bullet

Location Discovered Balkans
Material  Lead
Dimensions 2.8cm long x 1.8cm wide 1.3cm thick
Roman Empire 1st- 4th Century AD
Description

Lead sling bullet, with remains of an inscription.  The item is oval shaped and symmetric with a thick patina coating it.

What remains of an inscription is visible on one side.  It is unclear what the inscription says, however it appears to be a number ...XIV... perhaps indicating the name of a Legion or Cohort in which it was used. (1)
